Robert Wieferich has had a life-long interest in art. At an early age, he began experimenting with pencils, charcoal, and pastels, gradually developing a strong ability to draw and sketch. He was attracted by illustrations in the sports magazines of the 50’s and 60’s, and the vivid photography of travel magazines. He particularly loved the drawings and loose watercolor paintings used to highlight stories about fishing and hunting expeditions, and the magazines’ colorful interpretations of baseball and football.
Robert was introduced to painting, when he attended college as a studio art major. He earned a degree from American University, Washington, D.C., and attended the Maryland Art Institute in Baltimore. After college, he worked primarily in watercolor and oil. For more than 20 years, he exhibited his work through galleries in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area and participated in numerous art shows along the east coast. Read More>
